Bring your vision to life.
About
At The Workshop Barbados, I specialise in crafting abstract sculptures and creating simple contemporary furniture, drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of Barbados.
Having lived here with my family since 2010, my work reflects a deep connection to the island’s landscape and materials.
Approach
I start with ideas. This could be in collaboration with a designer, architect, builder, or homeowner. It could be for an intricate sculpture, a wall treatment, or a functional piece of furniture. The same process applies.
Working primarily with local woods such as mahogany, cedar, and tamarind, I prioritise environmentally conscious finishes like oils and shellac. I mill and dry wood in-house to ensure the highest quality and minimal environmental impact.
I believe in elevating life’s ordinary objects into extraordinary pieces through thoughtful design, resonating with each unique project’s narrative.
Process
My process blends traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology and draws on over 20 years dedicated to the tech industry.
I turn conceptual sketches into 3D models,
or scan real-world objects so they can be manipulated and then incorporated into existing drawings. I also use augmented reality (AR) when necessary to show how the piece will look in its intended place.
I incorporate welded steel and perspex into my designs to enhance both structural integrity and artistic appeal. Additionally, my expertise in lighting design allows me to seamlessly integrate lighting elements, improving functionality and aesthetics.
I'd love to work with you
